Most people who want to become ghostwriters learn the hard way through trial, error, and underpriced first projects. Ghost Semester exists to change that.
It’s a 3-month live ghostwriting cohort, structured like a college semester, built by Ink Without Footprints a ghostwriting agency with 40+ published books behind it. Instead of a pre-recorded course you forget in a week, Ghost Semester puts you in a live, structured environment where you learn the craft, process, and business of ghostwriting at the same time.
What Is Ghost Semester?
Ghost Semester is a live, instructor-led ghostwriting program delivered over three months. It’s designed for anyone who wants to learn ghostwriting professionally; not just write well, but write for someone else’s story, capture a voice that isn’t their own, and manage a real client relationship from first call to final manuscript.
Two live classes run weekly:
- Tuesdays, 7:30–9:00 PM IST
- Saturdays, 7:30–9:00 PM IST
Each cohort is capped at 20 students to keep sessions genuinely interactive rather than lecture-style.
Why a Semester, Not Just a Course?
Ghostwriting isn’t a skill you absorb from a video. It’s a craft you build through repetition, feedback, and real structure which is exactly why Ghost Semester is built like a college semester: a full student workbook, a facilitator-guided curriculum, live sessions, and a community you can ask questions in between classes.
Who Should Join Ghost Semester?
Ghost Semester is built for:
- Writers who want to turn writing into a paying profession
- Aspiring ghostwriters unsure how to find clients or price their work
- Content writers and copywriters looking to move into long-form, book-length work
- Anyone who’s always wondered how to become a ghostwriter but didn’t know where to start
What You Walk Away With
By the end of the three months, you’ll understand:
- How to find and capture a client’s authentic voice
- How to structure a book-length manuscript from raw material; interviews, notes, voice memos
- How the ghostwriting business actually works; pricing, contracts, client management
- How to pitch yourself and land your first ghostwriting clients
Why Learn From Ink Without Footprints
This isn’t theory from someone who’s never ghostwritten a book. Ghost Semester is built from the real, working process behind 40+ published books across memoir, mythology, fiction, self-help, and business the same process IWF uses with paying clients every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any ghostwriting experience to join?
Not at all. If you’re comfortable writing and curious about telling someone else’s story by stepping into their shoes, you’re ready. Ghost Semester starts with the fundamentals, helping you develop the skills to understand another person’s voice, perspective, and experiences. You don’t need a client or a published book to get started.
How is this different from the recorded courses I've seen online?
Think of it less like a course and more like a semester. You show up to live sessions, work through a student workbook, get feedback from facilitators, and have a community to turn to between classes. Ghostwriting is learned by doing and getting feedback, and watching videos alone doesn’t give you that.
When are the classes, and how big is Cohort 1?
Live sessions are held every Tuesday and Saturday from 7:30 to 9:00 PM IST. With Cohort 1 limited to 20 students and two sessions each week, the programme ensures that every participant receives individual attention, personalised guidance, and the support needed to make meaningful progress throughout their learning journey.
Will I learn how to find clients and price my work?
Yes, and it’s a big part of the program. Along with the craft of capturing a client’s voice and shaping a manuscript, you’ll learn pricing, contracts, client management, and how to pitch yourself. The goal is to help you skip the underpriced first projects that so many new ghostwriters go through.
Who's teaching this?
Our founder, Nandini Shanmugan, will lead the learning journey, sharing her expertise, insights, and practical guidance while mentoring aspiring authors every step of the way.
How do I enroll?
Enrollment is open right now, with just 20 seats per cohort. If you’re considering it, it’s worth registering early to hold your spot.
