About Us

We write so you don’t have to disappear from your own life to finish your book.

Founder's Note

I want to tell you something I don't often say out loud.

Every book on your shelf — the memoir that made you cry on a flight, the business book that changed how you think, the personal narrative that made you feel less alone — had more than one person behind it.

Most books do. That is not a secret in the publishing world. It is just not something anyone talks about in polite company.

I started talking about it ten years ago. And I built a company around it.

Ink Without Footprints exists because stories matter — and because the people who carry the most interesting ones are rarely the people with the most time to write them down. The surgeon who developed a new procedure. The woman who rebuilt her life after everything fell apart. The founder who created something out of nothing and still cannot explain exactly how. These people have something worth saying. They just need someone who knows how to say it with them.

That is what we do here.

We are a ghostwriting, editing, publishing, and marketing agency. We have worked on over forty books across memoirs, mythology, fiction, business narratives, and self-help. We have shepherded manuscripts from a single voice note to a finished hardcover. We have worked with clients who came to us with nothing but a feeling and left with a book that changed how they understood their own life.

We do not put our name on any of it. That is the point.

What I have learned in ten years of this work is that the best collaborations feel invisible. The writer disappears into the story. The client feels, for the first time, truly heard. And the book that comes out the other side is more honest and more alive than either of them could have made alone.

I started IWF in Bengaluru with a belief that Indian stories — and the people brave enough to tell them — deserve the same quality of craft and care that publishing houses in London and New York take for granted. A decade later, I still believe that. And I am still here, still reading every manuscript that comes through our door, still convinced that there is no story too small to matter if it is told well.

If you have a book inside you — or you think you might — I want to hear about it.

And if you have always been the person in the room who could find the words when nobody else could, I want to talk to you too.

This company was built for both of you.

How We Work

  1. Listen first. Interviews, voice notes, half-finished drafts we start wherever you are.
  2. Structure the story. Outlines, chapter maps, and a plan before a single polished page.
  3. Write in your voice. Not ours. Every draft is built to sound like you, not like us.
  4. Edit with intent. Developmental and line editing that protects the voice we just built.
  5. Take it to the world, if you want to. Submission strategy, publishing guidance, and marketing support for launch.

Our Values

01

Confidentiality is non-negotiable. Your story stays yours, on paper and off.

02

Voice over polish. A slightly imperfect sentence that sounds like you beats a perfect one that sounds like someone else.

03

No blank spaces in a contract or a conversation. Clarity, before anything else.
